Skiathos Airport

This gallery, featuring photos taken in 2018 and 2019, highlights various locations that offer the best perspectives for photography of arriving and departing aircraft. Skiathos International Airport ‘Alexandros Papadiamantis’ in Greece serves the Sporades Islands Skiathos, Skopelos and Alonissos, except Skyros, which has an airport of its own. It’s a lively island distinct from the more renowned destinations such as Mykonos and Santorini. The primary travel season extends from May through mid-October, peaking during July and August with heightened aircraft activities.
The peak season and the surrounding hills around the airport, make Skiathos Airport an excellent place for civil aviation photography. During the summer of 2024, approximately 15 airlines operated flights to Skiathos from 29 European destinations, including SAS Scandinavian Airlines, TUI Airways, TAROM, Air Serbia, Avanti Air, Smartwings, Neos, Ryanair, Jet2, easyJet, Volotea, Edelwiess Air, Wizz Air Malta, Sunclass Airlines and Transavia. In 2023, the airport handled over half a million passengers.
