Top Gun Part I

This gallery covers the 1970s of the Navy Fighter Weapons School TOPGUN, featuring A-4 (with and without camouflage), F-5, F-14 and F-4 aircraft, including two F-4 Phantoms from VF-121 squadron that launched TOPGUN. It also shows the second hand trailer “accommodation” of the founding instructors, where the concept of dogfight tactics was developed – later transforming air forces around the world.
During our visits to NAS Miramar, we were allowed, under press supervision, to move freely on the ramp during operations and visit the runways for take-offs and landings.
